Los Angeles is the City of Dreams, and the city where the body of a naked women was found in a vacant lot on the morning of January 15, 1947. The victim Elizabeth Short, nicknamed the Black Dahlia by the media, was mutilated and purposely posed. The case quickly gained headlines due to the graphic nature of the crime and despite an extensive investigation resulting in over 150 suspects, no one has ever been officially charged in the Black Dahlia murder. It remains one of the most famous unsolved cases in U.S. history.
